Add SmartDraw Diagrams to Google Docs^™ and More

You can enhance any boring documentation, report, or presentation with some eye-catching visuals. Create diagrams and easily insert them into any document, slide, or sheet in Google Workspace^™ using the SmartDraw app. Make your presentations and documentation pop with professional visuals and easy-to-understand diagrams.

In your Google Doc^™ (this also works in Google Sheets^™ and Google Slides^™), launch the SmartDraw Diagrams app from the sidebar and click on Insert Diagram.

You can create a new diagram from one of SmartDraw's hundreds of templates or choose an existing diagram to add to your document.

Click the Insert Diagram button on the lower left corner of the SmartDraw modal to go back to Google Docs^™ with your diagram inserted.

Updating Inserted Diagrams

If you need to update a diagram, you'll need to update your document in your SmartDraw account first. Login to SmartDraw and update the visual. To refresh the diagram in Google Docs^™, launch the SmartDraw app from the sidebar and choose Update All Diagrams or Update Selected Diagrams in the SmartDraw Diagrams panel.

Create New SmartDraw Diagrams Directly from Google Drive^™

Once SmartDraw has been added to your Google Workspace^™ account, you can also create new SmartDraw documents directly from Google Drive^™. Simply click on New, navigate to More and choose SmartDraw Diagrams.

Login with your normal SmartDraw credentials.

Draw your diagram or choose an existing diagram stored in your account and save it to Google Drive^™.

Open SmartDraw Diagrams on Google Drive^™

SmartDraw diagrams will appear with thumbnail previews in your Google Drive^™ folders. To edit a file, navigate to it and double-click to bring up an app selection drop-down and choose SmartDraw Diagrams.

You can also right-click on the file, go to Open With in the modal that pops up and choose SmartDraw Diagrams.

Any changes you make to the diagram will be saved to Google Drive^™ automatically.
